Batangas is known for kapeng barako but Laiya beach resorts are the next best thing about this place I must say. Instead of going to other islands thinking of how expensive plane fare or boat fare just to get some sand and sun, Laiya offers you with so much. It's a barangay within the shores of Verde Island in San Juan. I have heard of Laiya, Batangas for years from my Batangueños closed friends so we ventured south. It’s close enough to travel by land from my so called chaotic metro, it's just a few hours away from Metro Manila.
LET'S REVIEW HOW TO GET HERE...
There are buses plying to the different parts of Batangas daily from Manila for about 2 hours, take the bus headed for Lipa City. From Lipa bus terminal, take a van to San Juan. Travel time is approximately an hour and once in San Juan take a jeepney to Laiya for another 20 minutes but in our case we asked the van driver to bring us directly to our resort instead of taking another ride.
